WITHIN THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE |
|
A senseless act so cruelly wrought
Upon the innocent it has brought |
A Nation mourning a great loss
We turn again towards the Cross |
|
For strength and hope that we endure
For pain and grief there is no cure |
So many children laid to rest
By grieving parents who were blessed |
|
To share their lives for a short time
To lose them so soon to a senseless crime |
A troubled man he took their life
Their hearts now feel the stabbing knife |
|
Of grief and anger for all that's gone
And wondering how to face the dawn |
There is another mom and dad
Whose hearts are broken and very sad |
|
For their son who now is gone
Into the darkness he was drawn |
They grieve for lives taken by a son
Who silenced them with the sound of a gun |
|
As white flakes fell upon the ground
Their screams were echoing all around |
Their innocent laughter taken away
On that cold snowy fateful day |
|
So many beating hearts are still
The sound of silence now so shrill |
Above the clouds they stand and wait
At the entrance to Heavens gates |
|
For parents and all they left behind
Where they still live within their mind |
Where memories of them will always remain
Echoing in silence and unbearable pain |
|
We search for peace, so aimlessly
As tears stream down so shamelessly |
|
As they fall
Within
The Sounds of Silence |
|
