“The End is Not Yet”

And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet. -- Mathew 24:6

My Children, be ye of good cheer;

The end may not be so near.

We have fretted for years,

Filled ourselves with fears

Of dire things to come,

An excuse for some

To foment war,

Saying Christ himself foresaw

This endless cycle of pain

As war comes again and again

When He meant only to reassure

And not excuse more

Eternally recurring war.

Judgment awaits warmongers,

The rapacious ones who hunger,

With riches and power their creed

As they plot to satisfy their sinful needs.

And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation; neither shall they learn war any more. -- Isaiah 2:4
