Purple Crocus In England

The forest is dark and lifeless
Patches of snow still scattered about
No lovely flowers to gaze upon
My world is the color of night

Far away in the land of my dreams
Grow crocus so lovely and bright
They brighten my day and promise to me
That springtime is surely in sight

For now I will think of the flowers
In the land where I long to be
The bright purple crocus have bloomed
On the green hills I wish I could see

Someday I will travel to England
And walk on that carpet of green
I'll look at the crocus in the meadow
And gaze at the land in my dreams
