Haines Point

HAINES POINT SUMMER

Pedaling serenely through
dappled shade,
morning sun gleams
rhythmically off
synchronized oars –
a rowing team from
Georgetown sculls
silently through
rippling Potomac waves.
Years and cares slip away
on gentle morning breezes,
unnoticed and unmissed.
Life is sweet.
